Well I'm on vacation here in New Jersey. Not even at the beach! (A little cold for that.) But just here at home in West New York. Well I'm not going anywhere, but at least I'm getting some stuff done. It's nice to be home, instead of at work! Posted by Hello

I've been scrapping pictures of Betty today so I thought I'd find a postcard from one of her adventures. She was in Budapest in the summer of '97 and sent me this for my 21st birthday. She said she would have a beer with me in spirit to mark the occasion if she could get the bartender to understand her. Of course, I didn't even get to drink on my birthday. I was in Houston and was about to start my summer internship. Didn't know anyone yet, but a fellow intern took me to dinner at a 50s diner. And the same day, Randi and Mike got to see U2 on the Popmart tour. It wasn't a very happy birthday! Posted by Hello
Boring correction... Randi points out that she did not skip school to go to Disney World. She had a long weekend for the teacher's convention.  Posted by Hello

Here's another one from Aunt Eileen, who I'm sad to say won't be coming up for Thanksgiving. We'll miss her and her apple pie! (It is the BEST!!!!)
These are the wild horses on Assateague Island (think it's near Virginia). My brother has been there too, and I think he saw more mosquitoes that horses. They remind me of two of my favorite "Wild Horses" songs by the Stones and U2. Posted by Hello

I still can't believe my mom let Randi skip school to go to Oranlando with Grandma and Aunt Lorranie! That was in 11/94 and I'm still bitter!
They went to Disney, Universal and Seaworld. But they also had to do one of those boring timeshare sessions. This was the trip where they discovered Randi's talent for humming! Don't let her get bored or she'll start. Posted by Hello

I've only been to the Guggenheim once. Randi and I went to see a fashion exhibit there. I can't remember the designer, but it was a history of his work that went down the spiral. It's an amazing building!  Posted by Hello

This one's from mom. It's Bingham Falls in Stowe, Vt. She went up to Stowe with grandma and Aunt Lorainne in 2000. They went to see the Von Trapp family lodge (as in the Sound of Music family), the Ben & Jerry's factory (but they didn't like the sample flavor) and some other New England-y sites.  Posted by Hello

I picked this randomly and it's another fall one!
This is from Alfred, NY, where a friend went to college. He was from NJ too and was in awe of upstate New York and the mountains.
I knew Angel from a high school journalism workshop, but the then we lost touch in college. It's weird how so many people I know seem to have fallen off the face of the earth in just a few years. :( Reading the back, I had forgotten that we used to write letters to each other - the kind on paper.

Thought this postcard from Colorado would be a good pick for today because of the fall colors (even though it could be snowing there by now). This one's from my friend and co-worker Geoff in '02 who recommends the local brews! Posted by Hello

I'm still figuring out how this blog works... here's the 2nd postcard for that last post. Posted by Hello

Thought I'd go with a reptile theme today. Aunt Eileen has great taste in postcards, and Uncle Bruce is likely to follow this snake recipe. The snake is from their trip to the Grand Canyon in 2000, and they sent the gila monster in '95.  Posted by Hello

Here's my postcard blog. I hate AOL's format but I like that I can post a series of photos. Posted by Hello

My new blog!

I just found this site, but I'm already loving this blog site. It's much, much better than AOL journals. I think I might start moving stuff over here!
