This postcard is from my friend Mitra. I'm trying to figure out when she was in Thailand, but I can't read the postmark - it's in another language! Mitra has done it all. She's traveled all over, she's written a book and now she's a mom.  Posted by Hello

We were driving home Sunday night and I noticed the lights on the Empire State Building were blue, white and green. No idea what that's for - it always seems to be in different colors for some holiday or occassion, but it's always so nice to see! I went up to the top just once a few years ago and it's a really cool view. You can see West New York from up there. Posted by Hello

I just got this in the mail from my friend Angie! It's from Brandon-By-The-Sea in Oregon where she went on a mini two day vacation! Very sweet of her to think of me and my blog!  Posted by Hello

Here's Louis Armstrong and Billie Holliday - 1949 in Hollywood. Postcard I got from Barnes and Nobles. Today is my friend David's birthday - and I wanted to post one today that reminded me of him. He is always singing - and he has a fantastic voice. A few weeks ago he left me a voice message - he just sang one of our favorite songs "Don't Think Twice." David lives in Missouri these days - so I don't see him much. Thank goodness for emails and mixed CDs. Hope you're having a happy one David!  Posted by Hello

I just loved watching Taylor ride her new tricycle today! She looked so cute and she actually got the hang of using the pedals. The bike was one of her presents for her 2nd birthday! Taylor rode down the driveway and back up again, and then she didn't want anything to do with her helmet Posted by Hello

The Diner

I know it's not officially open yet, but I'm too excited about this. I've got some digital scrapping kits at Jeanine's awesome new website Scrapdish.com! And I love the whole diner theme because they're all over the place here in Jersey.

The Vatican

I took these photos of the Vatican with my APS when I was in Rome in 2001. It was such a beautiful day and St. Peter's was not very crowded, because it was August, and that's when most people in Italy, inlcuding the pope, go on holiday. We also didn't know when we got there that the Sistene Chapel was closed, so I was just heartbroken. But seeing everything else, somewhat made up for it - the pieta, the baldechin, the architecture. I was there more to see the work of Bernini and Michelangelo, than as a Catholic, but it was still overwhelming and amazing.

What amazes me even more, after watching the news all week, is how many people can fit into this space. As you can see, it was empty when I was there. And thousands and thousands of people crowded the square to say goodbye to the pope. I can' t imagine how overwhelming that would be. Posted by Hello

Mom got me this postcard from MGM studios at Disney World. I love the Ewoks in Return of the Jedi, even though they are what many people don't like about it. And I like them much better than some of the newer characters in the more recent Star Wars movies. I've seen trailers for Episode 3. I really want to see it, but can't help but feel I'll be disappointed as I've been with the last two chapters. I like the action scenes - like Yoda's fight - but some of it is just boring - like the love story. Upside is Chewbacca and Darth Vader are in this one. OK, enough Star Wars nerdiness. I need to get ready for work. Posted by Hello
