Team Eric

It's no secret that I'm crazy about vampires. I've even been reading Dracula on my iPhone. You won't find me out with all the crazy girls/women at a midnight showing of Eclipse, even though the latest Twilight movie is based on my favorite book on the series. I think I'll wait until next week.

Michelle Godin (Pixel Works) did a cool Twilight-ispired kit over at Scrap Artist called Irrevocably in Love over at Scrap Artist. I think this is the fourth Twilight kit in my stash, and probably one of my faves!

I've been over Twilight for awhile now, but still find the movies amusing. So I had to scrap my favorite vampire, Eric Northman from the Sookie Stackhouse books, played by the very hot and very tall Alexander Skarsgard on True Blood.

My second favorite vamp isn't even Bill Compton or any of the Cullens. It's Damon Salvatore on the Vampire Diaries, played by Ian Somerhalder, who was also Boone on Lost. I can't get enough of them.

Has anyone seen The Gates? Because I really need another vampire show to obsess about!

Hola!

Happy Saturday! I just had an awesome pancake breakfast with my sister at a place called Stacks. Mmmm, pancakes. It's nice when I can get up and get some stuff done early once in awhile, especially when there's breakfast involved!

I am looking forward to these next two weeks. I'm working the day shift! Woohoo! I'm not always crazy about getting up early, but I like the pace and the features pages so much better than my usual work.

Not much else up here. Just work, hanging out with the usual suspects, enjoying the summer weather, watching vampires (True Blood!) and cooking shows (Food Network, Top Chef). I just got FIOS but there's still nothing to watch. I'm watching Scooby Doo right now.

Tonight we're going to dinner with Grandma. It's her 79th birthday!

Last week was the crop and I got a bunch of pages done while I had fun with the girls.

The girlies at their recital. Kylie did so much better this year. (Last year, she stood on the stage and sucked her thumb.) At one point she wiped out on the stage, but she just got right back and into it. All the little kids sing during the show and Kylie was the loudest. Her tap dance was "I've Got No Strings" and her ballet number was "It's A Jolly Holiday With Mary." Taylor was in three dances this year - a Cinderella medley ballet, "Be Our Guest" for tap and "Cruella DeVille" for hiphop. It was a Disney show so I like the little Mickey I made out of a button and some doodles! Credits

Here is Kylie and her little bro. She loves having a brother. Credits

Kylie was showing off on the big girl swing. She wanted us all to see and she asked "Aren't you so proud of me?" She's so funny! Credits

Here's one I did about what a cool kid Kylie is. She really only likes to pose if she's doing something crazy. Credits

Here's one of the pups. I gave them treats and they ran to their separate corners. Credits

Mom found these 8-tracks - some of my favorite music as a kid - when she cleared out the entertainment center. So I had to take a picture. I scraplifted one of Tania's pages for this one. Credits

Here's a recap of my vacation week. I had some crappy photos in the mix so I played around in Lightroom so I could hide some of that! Credits

Kid logic

My nieces really crack me up. This is a conversation I had with Kylie yesterday...

K: It's so hot.
Me: That's because it's summer.
K: If it's summer, why aren't we at the beach?

I love how this girl thinks!

It's been a whole week since my vacation and I'm just getting around to blogging. I am the worst managing my time and getting stuff done.

So let's see.... We had a bbq at my brother's place for Memorial Day. I got to spend some time with the crazy kiddos on Saturday too. The little guy is getting so big already.
And T & K made me the most awesome birthday presents!
I had a really fun birthday. I did some shopping for new clothes, got my nails done, took Penny for a super long walk. Then I had dinner at one of my favorite Mexican places with Randi and then met up with some friends for drinks at the Rover. Here I am with Pam and MJ.

The rest of the week was pretty cool. I saw Sex and The City 2 (blech!) and Shrek 3 (awesome!). Sang some karaoke at Sparky's on Wednesday. On Thurday, my job through a really fun newsroom appreciation party on the beach in Rye. One of they guys at work played with his band. And the blue sangria was awesome. On Saturday, I hung out in NYC with my co-worker Melissa. We were trying to go to a free concert, but they were at capacity after we waited around for an hour. So we went to a few bars (including a fun tiki place) and had some burgers. Lots of fun.

Here's my tiki drink from Rusty Knot.

I didn't get any crafty stuff done. But I did cross a few things off my to-do list. It was so nice to be home. They missed me at work though. One of my co-workers even hugged me and asked me to let her know the next time I planned to take a Friday off. Glad someone appreciates all I do!

Mom got Penny a dog house for her birthday and put it together last weekend. Penny is kind of afraid of it! We keep putting treats in it and on top (it has a balcony!) Mostly she just barks at it!

Penny had a vet appointment this week and the doctor says she's very healthy. She was such a pain at the vet - whining at all the other dogs. After that, I took her for a long walk around the pond at the park to get that nervous energy out. She's being pretty good today - Rocky's here and they are both relaxing on the couch. There was a cat outside the window before and Penny's whining woke me up. Not cool.

I don't think I've mentioned that I'm on a new CT! I'm scrapping for Amy Wolff at Lily Pad! I have known her since she was on the CT at RAKScraps so now it's fun to be working for her. Plus I just love the Lily Pad store so it's fun to be getting more involved there.

My first page uses Amy's No Flowers Allowed kit and Off Set alphas. Here's our new little guy with all of his aunties. Credits

And here's one I did using some of the Lily Pad BOYC stuff for June recapping my 33rd year and all the awesome stuff I did. Credits

Tonight is the girls' dance recital. Should be interesting. They are in a total of 5 numbers this year and the theme is Disney. I hope it's not as bad as last year's Beatles-themed show. It wasn't just that the dancing was bad, but there was a guy playing piano and singing most of the songs in a loud, off-key way. I hope they got a different player!
